Beyond the Bell

Our program offers integrated education and prevention services for "at-risk" youth. Opportunities for youth to expand their range of choices, become empowered to achieve positive growth and development, improve expectations and capabilities for future success and avoid risky behavior are centered around the school's academic year. Students who require additional assistance receive help during after-school hours and during the summer from Board Certified Teachers.

Beyond the Bell Goals

Goal 1: To improve participants' academic performance through academic enrichment activities. Students receive one-on-one academic assistance through Princeton Review - Homeroom.com an Illinois State Testing Assessment.

Goal 2: To improve opportunities for building positive social relationships through creative forms of self-expression, including supervised sports, recreation, arts, and cultural activities.

Goal 3: To provide opportunities for learning positive social behaviors.

Goal 4: To foster positive life choices that discourages harmful risk-taking behaviors through life skills education.

Goal 5: Provide youth with mentoring opportunities to develop and maintain positive relationships with adults.

Additionally, the program encourages greater parental, community and organizational involvement with the children who participate in Beyond the Bell by providing volunteer opportunities, sponsoring field trips, and offering other activities that support direct interaction with participating youth.
